Recent Highlights of Electrical Department

a)All four EMU rakes serving in PA-LNL section of PA division have been replaced with 12 Car BHEL make DC-AC rakes.

b)Due to extension of PF 2-3 at PA station in SUR end, one of the multi-track portal covering PF 1 and PF 2-3 becomes critical implantation structure. It was also a corroded structure. New portal in place have been erected on 14.07.2010 and with a minimum period of time taken for OHE load transfer, old structure was removed on 25.07.2010.

c)CRS, in his observations, prior to DC-AC conversion work was proposed speed restriction of 30 KMPH due to anticipated restricted clearances between live and earth parts under FOB at KK and CCH. The matter was pending since the section was converted i.e. from Dec-09. Speed restriction, as suggested was not imposed by conversion. After close inspection, it was noted that required clearances under KK FOB are available and there is no need to impose speed restriction at KK FOB. Required clearances under CCH FOB were adjusted with some corrective measures on DN main line and UP and DN loop lines OHE. Since the clearances were achieved as per requirement, it appears that there is no need to impose speed restriction under CCH FOB as well. This work has been carried out during the year.
