  Mechanical Department - Kurla Diesel Sheds

Kurla Diesel Shed is established in year 1952. It is meant to cater the shunting services of BB division and homing shunting locos. This shed was designed and developed originally for homing Hydraulic locos but from 25.07.2007 shed is under transition for homing ALCO class locos.

This shed also homing A class Accident Relief Train (ART) with 140 T capacity Diesel hydraulic brake down Rail crane which is used in case of accidents as a rescue equipment. Apart from this shed is also handling Railway Consumer depot (RCD) for storage Diesel oil for fuelling of Diesel Locomotives in Mumbai area.

(d)       Infrastructure development

1. Incinerator is commissioned, which is used for disposal of waste filters, cotton waste   etc.
2. Effluent Treatment Plant - commissioning nearing completion.
3. Water Load Box - commissioning nearing completion.
4.

Work contract for Pit Raising Work of LSR section is awarded Apprx. Cost Rs.30    Lakhs.

5.  Works Programme of Rs.4.49 Crore sanctioned by Rly. Board for the year 2011-12 for   Infrastructure development for homing ALCO Locos.
