  • 6.        Role Of Safety Dept.

     

    • Safety dept. is a multi-disciplinary safety outfit.
    • Safety dept. merely acts as a catalyst. Each executive dept. is responsible for running trains must own the task of monitoring safety.  
    • Monitoring implementation of all directives issued by Railway Board in  matters pertaining to safety.
    •  Liaison with other depts. for observation of maintenance and operational practices.
    • Carry out safety super-checks of functioning of operational and maintenance machinery. 
    • Preparation and circulation of posters, bulletins etc for safety awareness.
    • Safety drives based on the safety environment.
    • Regular counselling and monitoring of staff involved in maintenance and operation.

    ·Also Endeavour to Sensitize road users at unmanned LCs and general public near the vicinity of Railway stations for prevention of level crossing accidents and fire in train cases.
