System Improvement

  • An additional securing arrangement for the ZS coupler has been developed and implemented using a PVC rope and hook lock connected to the female socket cover rod to prevent accidental dropping of the coupler during train operation.
  • The CMM Electrical Escorting App has been implemented in all primary-maintained trains of BB Division, enabling advance transmission of arrival reports to rake engineers, timely rectification of defects, and reduction in Rail Madad complaints.
  • Achieved 100% conversion to LED lighting across the coaching fleet, resulting in improved reliability, reduced power consumption, and lower maintenance requirements.
  • Successfully completed conversion of all Non-HOG coaches to HOG-compliant configuration, ensuring uniform HOG operation across the fleet.
  • Mobile charging switch assemblies in Non-AC LHB coaches have been relocated from the underframe to the electrical panel, improving accessibility, safety, and maintainability.
  • Provision of NET-1/NET-2 isolating contactor modification has been completed in all 112 LHB Power Cars to enhance electrical safety and operational reliability.
  • Luggage light circuit modification has been completed in 188 Power Cars and LSLRD coaches to eliminate sparking during train operation and improve fire safety.
  • BB Division is successfully operating 50 HOG-enabled trains, and Rajdhani Express has been made fully Push-Pull compliant, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing diesel fuel consumption.
  • BB Division has successfully undertaken maintenance of the Vande Bharat Express trainsets operating on the CSMT–Sainagar Shirdi, CSMT–Solapur, and CSMT–Madgaon routes, ensuring high standards of reliability and availability.
  • A safety chain arrangement comprising a steel wire rope and S-hook has been provided for ZS couplers in all LHB coaches using in-house resources at minimal cost, preventing coupler damage and enhancing operational safety.
  • The existing 6.5 kW Regulated Battery Charger has been replaced with a 4.5 kW Regulated Battery Charger, improving system suitability, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
  • Individual MPCBs have been provided for water pumps, and the pump controller has been relocated to the onboard electrical panel in LHB Non-AC/EOG coaches, improving fault isolation, safety, and ease of maintenance.
  • A 750 V HOG maintenance power supply has been commissioned at all eight washing lines of WB Depot and all eight washing lines of LTT Depot, enabling functional testing of HOG coaches during primary maintenance without DG operation, thereby reducing High-Speed Diesel (HSD) consumption and maintenance costs.
