General Manager Presents Safety Award to 12 Staff of Central Railway

Shri Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway, felicitated 12 staff members with the Safety Award in a function held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai o­n 06.05.2025. 
The Safety awards were presented in recognition of the respective employee’s alertness during duty, their contribution in averting untoward incidents and ensuring safety in train operations during the previous months. Each award consists of a medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and cash prize of ₹ 2000/-.
Mumbai Division
Shri Anil Nimbaji Telore, Section Engineer (C&W), Igatpuri - o­n 05.03.2025, during brake power testing of a goods train, he found the bearing cup of a wagon broken. The wagon was detached from the train. His alertness averted a potential mishap.
Bhusaval Division
Shri Amrendra Kumar, Technician (C&W), Bhusaval - o­n 21.03.2025, during rolling-in inspection of a goods train, he noticed the grease seal of a wagon axle was shifted. He informed all concerned and the wagon was detached. His vigilance averted a possible accident.
Shri Dinesh Yadav, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Nashik Road (RPF) - o­n 15.01.2025, he saved a man attempting suicide by jumping under Train No. 22183, along with the help of colleagues. His quick response saved the man's life.
Shri Anand Wagh, Head Constable, Nashik Road (RPF) - o­n 30.01.2025, a woman who had boarded Train No. 12110 after helping her two children slipped between the platform and the moving train. He quickly rescued her with the help of another woman passenger. His prompt action saved her life.
Nagpur Division
Shri Arvind Kumar Sharma, Train Manager - o­n 18.04.2025, while o­n duty in a goods train at Sewagram station, he noticed smoke coming from the wheels of the power car attached to the Bharat Darshan Express passing o­n the adjacent line during hand signal exchange. He immediately showed a danger signal and stopped the train. After inspection, a serious brake binding issue was found. His alertness helped avert a possible accident.
Shri Ram Lakhan, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Ballarshah (RPF) - o­n 21.03.2025, he stopped Train No. 12296 after noticing a male passenger slipping between the platform and the train. The passenger was injured and immediately taken to hospital. His quick thinking saved a life.
Shri Nitin Naik, Head Constable (Dog Squad), Nagpur - o­n 28.03.2025, he responded to control room information and, with the help of a sniffer dog, located a damaged portable generator that had fallen into bushes after a collision. His commendable work helped register a criminal case.
Pune Division
Shri Jitendra Kumar, Assistant (C&W), Daund - o­n 21.02.2025, during rolling-in inspection, he found a CTRB crack o­n a wagon axle. The wagon was detached after notifying concerned authorities. His alertness prevented a possible accident.
Solapur Division
Shri Roshan Kumar, Technician (Traction), Solapur - o­n 09.04.2025, during foot patrolling in Solapur yard, he noticed the contact wire was abnormally bent near the RRA location. He promptly informed all concerned, allowing for timely power block and repair. His vigilance averted a potential hazard.
Shri Sonu Kumar, Track Maintainer, Tilati - o­n 22.04.2025, while working o­n the track, he saw flames coming from a wagon of a passing goods train due to a hot axle. He immediately informed all concerned. His alertness helped prevent a possible accident.
Shri Popat Shivaji, Technician (C&W) - o­n 21.03.2025, during rolling-in inspection of Train No. 12025 Shatabdi Express, he found the primary outer spring of Coach No. 224631 broken. He promptly informed all concerned. His action averted a mishap.
Shri Wasim Sheikh, Technician (C&W) - o­n 04.04.2025, during rolling-in inspection of Train No. 12025 Shatabdi Express, he found the primary outer spring of Coach No. 141587 broken. He informed all concerned and helped prevent a possible incident.
Congratulating the awardees, the General Manager appreciated their alertness, dedication, and contribution to railway safety. He stated that such acts inspire others to perform their duties diligently and help prevent loss of life, property, and enhance passenger safety.

Shri Prateek Goswami, Additional General Manager, Shri Chandra Kishore Prasad, Principal Chief Safety Officer, other Principal Heads of Departments and Senior Officers of Central Railway were present o­n the occasion.
