DFCCIL Achieves Major Milestone with Launch of it's Longest Rail Flyover Girder at Kalamboli

In a major boost to India’s freight infrastructure, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has successfully launched a monumental Open Web Steel Girder measuring 110.5 meters in length and weighing approximately 1500 tonnes at Kalamboli, in the JNPT–NILJE section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

This Rail Flyover (RFO) stands as the longest of its kind constructed by DFCCIL to date, marking a significant engineering accomplishment. The launch involved the radial shifting of the massive girder by 34 meters over existing Indian Railways tracks, a task that required intricate planning and the deployment of advanced construction technologies.

The significant event was graced by the presence of the Managing Director, DFCCIL, who witnessed the successful launch firsthand.

The successful completion of this challenging milestone reinforces DFCCIL’s commitment to building world-class freight infrastructure and strengthening the logistics backbone of the nation. This shows vision of enhancing freight movement efficiency and supporting India’s economic growth through robust infrastructure development.
