Nine Central Railway staff felicitated with General Manager’s Safety Award
Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway gave away “General Manager’s Safety Award” to 9 Central Railway staff (three from Bhusaval Division, three from Nagpur Division and one each from Mumbai, Pune and Solapur Division) in appreciation of their alertness during duty, their contribution in averting untoward incidents and ensuring safety in train operations in a function held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on 4.10.2021. The award consists of a Medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and a cash award of Rs.2000/-.

Shri Tanaji R Patil, Guard (Goods), Pune alerted the driver about sparking in 16th wagon found to be break binding and could avoid possible accident
Shri Kumar Durgesh, Loco Pilot (Goods), Solapur while working on goods train noticed a jerk and informed the concerned, it was found a broken flash but weld.
Shri Mohnish Rangari, Keyman, Ajni Nagpur noticed a hot axel in one of the wagons while exchanging the signal and immediately stopped the train by showing red signal.
Shri V A Karpate, Deputy Station Manager, Khapri noticed a hot axel in 8th wagon while exchanging the signal and immediately stopped the train and wagon was removed.
Shri Prashant Kumbhare, Deputy Station Manager, Bhusaval while working in cabin noticed unusual sound in goods train and informed the concerned. on examination it was found rail fracture.
Shri Yogesh Sarwan, Track Maintainer IV, Devlali, Bhusaval and Shri Manjur Alam, Track Maintainer IV, Devlali, Bhusaval during night patrolling noticed that one truck breaking the wall of ROB was hanging on railway track and immediately informed the same to all concerned and also stopped incoming train to avoid untoward incident.
Shri Sanjay Shankar Chavan, Loco pilot, Kurla Mumbai while working on 02978 Dn noticed rail fracture in Kasu-Nagothane section and stopped the train by applying emergency brakes and avoid possible untoward incident.
Shri Amit Pardeshi, Junior Engineer (carriage and wagon) for noticing lower spring of a coach in tilting condition in Balharshah yard, Nagpur Division.
Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, while addressing on the occasion said that the 24 x 7 alertness amongst the railway staff for safer working will motivate others and sincerely work towards the safety of passengers.
Shri B.K. Dadabhoy, Additional General Manager and Shri Alok Singh, Principal Chief Safety Officer, Shri Mukul Jain, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Shri A.K. Gupta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Shri Ashwani Saxena, Principal Chief Engineering, Shri Gopal Chandra, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer and other Principal Heads of Departments of Central Railway were present on the occasion and Divisional Railway Managers of all the Divisions joined the event virutally. All covid-19 protocols were followed during the meeting.
