Central and Western Railway’s bonanza for Ganpati devotees- run 312 Ganpati Special Train Services ( CR’s 257 & WR’s 55 services) in 2023 as compared to 294 services in 2022 – (18 more services this year)

Central Railway to transport more than 1.04 lakh reserved passengers ( as compared to approximately 90,000 passengers in 2022) and an estimated 1.50 lakh unreserved passengers through 257 Ganpati Special train services desiring to travel during the Ganesh festival season.

Central and Western Railway has offered a bonanza for Ganpati devotees this year. They are jointly running 312 Ganpati Special Train services (including Central Railway’s 257 and Western Railway’s 55 services) in 2023 as against 294 services in 2022. This year 18 more services are being run in comparison to last year.

The number of Ganpati special trains is as per the table below:

The unreserved services have increased from 32 in 2022 to 94 in 2023.

On Central Railway, an estimated 1.04 lakh passengers from reserved train services are expected to benefit generating a commendable revenue of Rs.5.13 crore.( Unreserved earnings not added) Besides an estimated 1.50 lakh passengers are expected to benefit from unreserved train services earning a respectable revenue for Railways.
