Swachhata Pakhwada-2023 begins o­n Central Railway with Swachhata Pledge

Shri Naresh Lalwani, General Manager, Central Railway administered the Swachhata Pledge to Principal Heads of Department of Central Railway, Officers and Staff at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Swachhata Pakhwada is being observed from 16.9.2023 to 02.10.2023 all over the Railways with a view to ensure visible improvement in cleanliness at stations, trains, offices, colonies, workshops, maintenance depots, hospitals, etc.

Railway officers and Staff of Central Railway Headquarters and all Divisions, pledged to commit towards cleanliness and devote time for cleanliness 100 hrs per year i.e. two hours per week to voluntarily work for cleanliness, create awareness against single use plastics, minimise use of plastics and initiate the quest for cleanliness with self, family, locality, village and workplace.

At various offices, units, and depots, shramdaan and tree plantation activities were organised, to inculcate awareness about the plastic prohibition and organised the distribution of cloth bags in collaboration with NGOs and charitable institutions. Various works regarding environment and cleanliness project were initiated.
Each day has been earmarked for Cleanliness activity under Swachhta Pakhwada where Swachhata Pledge will be followed by

DAY - 2: 17/09/2023: Swachh Samwad (Cleanliness dialogues/Public)
DAY - 3: 18/09/2023: Swachh Stations (Clean Stations) major stations
DAY - 4: 19/09/2023: Swachh Stations (Clean Stations) other than major stations
DAY - 5: 20/09/2023: Swachh Railgaadi (Clean Train)
DAY - 6: 21/09/2023: Swachh Railgaadi (Clean Train)
DAY - 7: 22/09/2023: Swachh Patri (Clean Tracks)
DAY - 8: 23/09/2023: Swachh karyalaya, swachh colonies & Parisar (Clean Work Place & Clean Residential Premises)
DAY - 9: 24/09/2023: Swachh Ahar (Clean food)
DAY - 10: 25/09/2023: Swachh Ahar (Clean food)
DAY - 11 : 26/09/2023 : Swachh Neer (Clean Water)
DAY - 12: 27.09.2023: Swachh waterbodies and park (Clean jalashaye & park)
DAY - 13: 28/09/2023: Swachh Prasadhan & paryavaran (Swachh toilets & Environment)
DAY - 14: 29/09/2023: Swachh spardha (Competition)
DAY - 15: 30/09/2023: No to Single Use Plastic
DAY - 16: 01/10/2023: Review/Briefing and Swachh Awareness Rally
DAY - 17: 02/10/2023: Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti & Community Day/Sewa Diwas/Community engagement

The Pakhwada will also feature Competitions and Awareness Rallies and will spread the Message of Say No to Plastic. The Swachhata Pakhwada will culminate with various activities o­n 2nd October o­n the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
