Central Railway infra works lead to speeding up of trains-
12 trains now running at 130 kmph on the Igatpuri-Bhusaval-Badnera section
Central Railway has been consistent in its efforts to provide better services to its passengers. Infrastructure works are being carried out on various sections in order to increase the speed of trains. These include multitracking ( laying of multiple tracks in a section), Over Head Equipment regulation, Signalling works and other technical works.
These works have enabled CR to run trains on these sections at a speed of 130 kmph.
Presently 12 trains are running at the speed of 130 kmph on the Igatpuri-Bhusaval section (308.12 kms) and Bhusaval-Badnera section (218.53 kms)– a total distance of 526.65 kms.

The speed of these trains have been increased after ensuring all safety aspects and technical inspection by the concerned officials. This will decrease running time of trains and improve overall punctuality of train movements.
Earlier Central Railway has enabled running of trains at 130 kmph on the following sections:

Central Railway presently runs trains at 130 kmph covering a total distance of 1111.29 kms i.e 526.65 kms on the Igatpuri-Badnera section, 75.59 kms on the Pune-Daund section and 509.05 kms on the Itarsi-Nagpur-Wardha-Ballarshah section.
Work to improve speed of trains is in progress on the Daund – Wadi section covering a distance of 337.44 kms and trains are likely to run at 130 kmph on this section.
