Maintenance works carried out in Sunday mega block
Central Railway Mumbai Division corona warriors carried out maintenance work during mega block on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Chunabhatti Harbour line on 22.11.2020.
Engineering
Through Rail Renewal of 2 pairs of 13 meter rail, seven 26-meter rail at bridge, replacement of 1 set of switches, replacement of scattered rails and rubber pads, were done. In addition work of 1 set of SEJ insertion, distressing, greasing and gas cutting of scrap rail was also done during the block.
OHE works
Annual overhauling and close inspection of OHE, re-tension and replacement of contact wires were done along with erection of booms, masts, AC brackets and dismantling of DC brackets, disconnection / reconnection of 27 bonds and provision of 12 bonds, tree trimming work at 12 places. These works were carried out with one Crane, 3 Tower Wagons and 4 trestle/ ladder gangs.
S&T Works
Replacement of rods, tongue rail and stock rail, track lead wires, S-Bonds, point machines and point insulation were done at Ravli Junction. Work of provision of disconnection and reconnection of Digital Axle Counter sensors, drilling of cycle holes, removal of sulphation, maintenance of location boxes and maintenance and testing of points was also done by Signal and Telecommunication warriors.
