
CR retains top position in Parcel Loading Performance
Central Railway has continued to hold the number one position in parcel traffic from June 2021 onwards. Rs.28.01 crore for the month of December 2021 and in the financial year 2021-22 upto December it stood at Rs.229.92 crore which is 159.78% more than the revenue of the corresponding period of last year.
Running of Kisan Rail which is helping farmers to send their perishables to far flung markets of the country resulted in growth of parcel traffic. During 2021-22 (upto December) 671 trips of Kisan Rail have been run carrying 2.38 lakh tonnes and earning a revenue of Rs.90.76 crore. Since inception, Kisan Rail trips have touched 899 transporting 3.09 lakh tonnes and generating a revenue of Rs.119.72 crore.
CR first among Indian Railways in Non-Fare Revenue
Central Railway is placed first amongst all Zonal Railways in Non-Fare Revenue which during the year 2021-22 (up to December) is Rs.19.03 crore which is 378% more than that of the corresponding period last year. Digital cloak room, e-vehicle charging points, app based e-wheel chair, etc are some of the major initiatives of Non-Fare Revenue.
CR Ticket Checking Revenue Highest in Indian Railways
Continued drive against ticketless/irregular travel including unbooked luggage by Central Railway has resulted in detection of 3.33 lakh cases in the month of December 2021 and realizing a penalty of Rs.19.54 crore from them.
During the period from April to December 2021, a total of 24.19 lakh cases were detected and a revenue of Rs.144.23 crore which is the highest in terms of revenue among all Zonal Railways. 27,887 passengers were penalized for not wearing masks.
