MECHANICAL (COACHING)

 

Mechanical (C&W Coaching Branch) Department is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of Coaching stock as per laid down norms.

  

ORGANIZATION CHART:

   

 The activities of coaching maintenance in Mumbai Division are carried out at four coaching depots for the mainline coaches i.e. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mazgaon, Wadibunder, Dadar Terminus and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).

  

·INTRODUCTION:

 

Mumbai Division is a mega coaching division of Indian Railways, having five coaching depots at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Wadi Bunder, Mazgaon, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

 

The major depots are Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Wadi Bunder with coach holding of 1264 and 472 respectively.

 

·ASSETS (DEPOT WISE TRAIN MAINTENANCE):

 

The Primary Holding (Bare) of Mumbai Division is 2097 coaches running in 103 rakes for 66 trains.
