MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

         

                   ON 15TH APRIL 1931 Solapur Medical division was formed with headquarters at Solapur building provided for the hospital could accommodate 10 patients at that time (Old Building which housed TB ward today) Hospital building was upgraded to accommodate 40 beds in the year 1959 with 8 doctors. Now the hospital has 89 beds and 14 doctors. It was named after          Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis who is the brave son of Solapur in 1976. Dr.Kotnis rendered his services and gave medical aid to the casualties during the IInd world war in China.

Medical Department of Solapur Division caters to 9389 employees and their families’ approximately 55000 beneficiaries and Total No. of RELHS 3160 card holders.

Solapur Railway hospital is declared as dedicated covid Health Center with 60 Civid beds and 20 suspected beds on 26/04/2020 for railway beneficiaries. Suspected ward is operational with 20 beds for railway beneficiaries only. For covid management the following infrastructural modification done.
