Zonal Bridge Training Institute (ZBTI), Manmad is a training institute set up for conducting training of Bridge organization staff. The ZBTI MMR is one of the only Two Zonal Bridge Training Institutes of Indian Railways that share the task of training of Bridge Organization staff. 

It was initially established as Bridge Training School (BTS) where training of Trade Apprentices were trained. Later it was upgraded as Central Bridge Training Institute(CBTI) and set up with hostel on 25/04/1988 for proper training to Bridge organization staff for manufacturing of steel structures for Bridges, ROBs, FOBs, other steel structures and their repairs and maintenance purpose.

Since, 20 Sep.2019, CBTI, MMR has been upgraded and is functioning as ZBTI MMR as per instructions from Railway Board (Ref: Letter No. E(MPP)/2016/3/13 of 02/02/2018) for conducting training courses for helpers/technician/JE/SSE of open line Bridge staff of C Rly,  NC Rly, SC Rly, SW Rly, SEC Rly, W Rly, NW Rly, WC Rly. It also caters for the training of workshop staff of 5 workshops namely Arakonam, Lallaguda, Sabarmati, Jalandhar and Lucknow of the Indian Railways.

ZBTI MMR is capable of imparting training to 20 trainees at a time. Available infrastructure for conducting various training programmes includes 02 classrooms, material testing laboratory, model room, hostel (10 rooms) for the trainees.

This institute also trains Trade Apprentices, conducts field visits of Field Inspection Unit teams of other Zonal Railways, ZRTI trainees and Engineering college students.
