Disaster Preparedness-
1. Central Railway has-
(i) Six A-Class Accident Relief Trains (140 T breakdown crane) located at CLA, BSL, MMR, AQ, MRJ and DD.
(ii) Five B-Class Accident Relief Trains located at KYN, IGP, AMLA, WR and Wadi.
(iii) Two C class Accident Relief Trains located at LNL and PUNE.
2. There are 8 Road Mobile Accident Relief Trains located at CSMT, CLA, KYN, PNVL, BD, AQ, PUNE, SUR.
3.There are 5 Accident Relief Medical Van Scale-I located at IGP, NGP, MRJ, WADI and DD.
4. There are 7 SPART/SPARMV located at KYN, PNVL, BSL, AMLA, WR, PUNE and SUR.
5.There are 14 Auxiliary Relief Medical Equipment Scale-II located at MMR, NGN, KNW, MZR, BD, CSN, BPQ, KWV, ANG, PB, PVR, LNL, GPR and STR.
6.The details of locations of Accident Relief Trains /Accident Relief Medical Equipment target time for tuning them out and inspection schedule/Mock drills are given in Zonal Disaster Management Plan-2018.
7. Mock Drills of are being carried out regularly.
8.The Disaster Management Act 2005 has widened the definition of disaster by including all those unfortunate events, which co-ordination and the assistance from outside Railway also.
9.Central Railway has tied up with National Disaster Relief Force battalion Talegaon (Near Pune).Their capabilities include dealing with following kinds of disasters.
Radiological disasters
Chemical & Biological disasters
Floods
Earthquakes
Building collapse, etc.
