Signal Workshop Byculla


    ABOUT S&T WORKSHOP, BYCULLA

    ØThe Central Railway Signal & Telecommunication Workshop covering about 3.4 acres in area is located near Byculla Railway station in Mumbai, Central Railway.

     

    ØIt is one of the oldest Workshops in the Indian Railways. It celebrated its One hundred ten years of running on 11th February 2021.

     

    ØThe Workshop began its journey as Repair and Overhauling Workshop.

     

    ØGradually it expanded the operation & started manufacturing SPT Machines, Moped trolleys, Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors.

     

    ØAfter phasing out of SPT machines, USFD & Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors, Workshop migrated to manufacturing of safety equipment viz SGE Block, NT Block and later on to Universal Axle Counter, Electrically Operated Lifting Barrier.

     

    ØOver the year it has developed into one of the premier Signal & Telecom Workshops of Indian Railways.

     

    ØThe Workshop comprises of Machine, Black smithy and Welding, Block, Relay, Fabrication & Assembly, Foundry, Carpentry and Painting, Electronics and Telecom, Millwright, Electroplating Shops and & Production Control Organization (PCO).
