History and Activities
Electric Loco Shed Bhusaval is one of the pioneer maintenance shed on Indian Railways, situated on Mumbai - Howrah & Mumbai - Delhi main line and came in to existence in the year 1968. The shed was originally designed for a holding capacity of 55 engines. ELS/BSL were maintained various types of locos such as WAG-2, WAG-4, WAG-7, WAM-4, locos in past period. At present WAG-5 WAP-4 & WAG-9H locos are maintained by shed. Electrical Loco Shed, Bhusawal has been accredited with International Standard Certificate ISO 9008-2000 since April 2006 and International Standard Certificate ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, OHSAS 18001: 2007 since September 2016. Electrical loco shed, Bhusawal has done many important activities with loco maintenance which will serve as mile stones in the history of Indian Railways.
From 2018, Three phase locos maintenance started in shed. At present 30 Nos. WAG-9H loco in holding.
ELS/BSL has been converted 03 Nos. battery operated dual mode shunting loco from condemned WAG-5 which can work in unwired section dispensing with the necessity of Diesel Loco for yard shunting.
