MEDICAL DEPARTMENT-SOLAPUR DIVISION
ON 15TH APRIL 1931 Solapur Medical division was formed with headquarters at Solapur. Building provided for the hospital could accommodate 10 patients at that time (Old Building which housed TB ward today). Hospital building was upgraded to accommodate 40 beds in the year 1959 with 8 doctors. Now the hospital has 89 beds and 14 doctors. It was named after Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis who is the brave son of Solapur in 1976. Dr.Kotnis rendered his services and gave medical aid to the casualties during the 2nd world war in China.

·Divisional railway hospital is honoured with appreciation letter by municipal commissioner, District collector and City police Commisioner in 2020
·Eight bedded new ICU started on 07/06/2021.

Second wave activities
·covid beds were deceased from 60 to 20 ( isolation 14 &suspected 6)
·4 ventilators and 2 BI-PAP are being used in ICU
·A 24*7 helpline call centre was opened for home quarantined benefiaries, the home quarantined benefeciaries were counselled by doctors
