The medical department of Pune Division is under the control of Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) who is controlled by Principle Chief Medical Director (PCMD), Central Railway stationed at Mumbai CSMT.
Dr M K Ramakrishna is the Chief Medical Superintendent of the Divisional Railway Hospital, CR, Pune.He is assisted by a team of 14 doctors in the division and Para-medical staff which include 21 nurses,10 pharmacists, 02 lab superintendents, 01 radiographer, 15 health inspectors and other para medical and conservancy staff.
The activities of medical department are clinical and health related activities.

Routine and emergency medical aid is provided 24 Hrs. with the help of 50 bedded Divisional Hospital located at Pune and Health Units located at Ghorpuri, Satara & Miraj for Railway Beneficiaries.
Tertiary medical care is provided through Government hospitals and empanelled Hospitals at Pune & Miraj.
Inlaks & Budhrani hospital, Noble Hospital, Global Hospital, Pawana Hospital & Ranka Hospital are empanelled in Pune & Wanless Medical center is empanelled at Miraj.
